Forgiving Yourself: When Guilt Lingers but Grace Has Already Come

Adversity: Praising Through the Fire

Adversity is not optional in this life. Trials, sorrow, and unexpected hardship will find us all. Yet Jesus prepared our hearts when He said, “In this world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). The comfort is not that we avoid the fire. The comfort is that we do not walk through it alone. There is a difference between knowing this truth in our minds and resting in it with our hearts. Emotions can roar louder than faith. Fear can feel more convincing than peace. But when we quiet ourselves and listen for the Holy Spirit, He gently leads us through the flames and into safety. Praise becomes our weapon. Worship becomes our strength. Even when our hallelujah is whispered, it carries power. Through every trial and every tear, we rise by declaring a relentless hallelujah.

From the Deer Stand

There’s something sacred about the stillness of a deer stand. Each November, as the morning light creeps over the horizon, I sit in quiet reflection—listening, watching, waiting. It’s more than a family tradition; it’s where I meet God in the stillness. Out there among the rustling leaves and distant calls of wildlife, He reminds me of the beauty in patience, the lessons in quiet, and the gift of simply being still. Whether or not a deer appears, my heart always comes home full. In that solitude, I pray, ponder, and listen for His voice. It’s where He slows my hurried spirit and refocuses my heart. We all have a place like that—a space where God draws near. Where is yours?
