Carissa is a walking miracle!

Carissa almost died after giving birth to her daughter and hemorrhaging profusely in 1994. With a blood pressure of 44/22 and a pulse rate of 220, she was not expected to live through her second surgery. Her father shut himself inside a hospital utility closet because there was no chapel, and he needed a quiet place to cry out to God for a miracle.

God saved her that night through the prayers of her family. The medical professionals agreed it was astounding that Carissa was still alive! Not long after this, Carissa felt God place a huge call upon her life. But before realizing this call, she would have to tackle post-partum depression, divorce, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, and anxiety. Battling all of this, she no longer felt "worthy" to follow God's call.

God brought Carissa and her husband Brad together in 2007. With God as their foundation, they built a beautiful blended family. Brad recognized "the call" that God had upon Carissa's life, and he encouraged her to follow God's will. Patchwork Faith Ministries was established in 2012, after Carissa became a certified healing practitioner through Global Awakening Ministry School.

A patchwork quilt is a combination of many scraps thrown together into a beautiful tapestry--each piece telling its unique story. Our lives are the same. God is the Master Weaver, and He will use each piece of our lives to tell our story. Through our own patchwork lives, we can bring others to Christ. God does not call the perfect. He perfects the called. We just need to be obedient.

Carissa has a master's degree in elementary education and spent almost 20 years in education. She then worked as a prayer minister and lay counselor at Patchwork Faith Ministries for over 13 years. She is a certified healing practitioner through Global Awakening and an ordained lay minister through Royal Family International.

In September of 2025, Carissa switched to an online platform to allow her the freedom to reach more people with the Gospel message. She shares words of knowledge, prophetic words, and uplifting and encouraging spiritual videos with women worldwide. She continues to live up to her nickname, "Holy Spirit Popcorn"!
